EXPECTATIONS.
Generally whenever there is any CS:GO major around the corner everyone in cs go community gets hyped for several reasons like new sticker, pick-up challenges, and mostly weeks of action pack back and forth continuous matchups which keeps everyone entertained and also keep everyone thinking and on their edge that who is real best team in the world and as cs go is a very competitive game it always keep changing like take example of Astralis who were ELEAGUE Major: Atlanta 2017 Champions and later on go on to win several other continuous premier after their history of getting choked in finals but since FaZe Clan roster change and dominance shown by FaZe Clan in EU regions and Also while SK Gaming was just holding back their horses and just waiting by their horses for a moment to shine and legendary teams such as Fnatic, Na'Vi & Virtus Pro also there waiting to show their talents nothing was certain for this tournament but much was expected from FaZe Clan.
QUALIFIERS
16 Teams Enter the qualifiers from EU, NA & CIS Asia regions and Qualification process very hard fought as so teams like Team Liquid, Optic Gaming, Dignitas, Hellraiser and others didn't even make it through qualifiers. But here on the teams qualifies sides were certain teams who weren't expected or like wasn't thought to be able to qualify and some even unknown team qualified.
G2, Mouz, PENTA, Cloud9, BIG, Vega Squadron, Flipsid3 and IMMORTALS made through the finals of the qualifiers but G2, Cloud9, and even Mouz and Flipsid3 can be expected to qualify but i just don't know it didn't make sense but several other teams won qualifier.
TECHNICAL PROBLEMS?
The first problem, was the problem of framerates. Since the last Counter Strike : Global Offensive update, most players have been getting reduced framerates on even beefy rigs that would not struggle with the game otherwise. However, the Ninja In Pyjamas team had a possible fix for the issue, which did help a lot of people fix their low framerates in-game.
However, most players were surprised to hear of the bad specifications of the rigs which were to be
used by the players in the rigs. The rigs were supposed to use old Core i5’s, which aren’t that impressive, according to Marcus ‘coldzera’ David. Marcus also said that 70-150 FPS is not a framerate professional players like him are used to. Andreas ‘Xyp9x’ Hejsleth and Christopher ‘GeT_RiGhT” Alesund were seen complaining about the resolution on the PCs as well. A screenshot of a casual banter between the players about the PCs at PGL Krakow 2017 is shown below:
There were a large number of complaints from Counter Strike fans, who could not view the matches on the in-game CSGO TV, that allows one to spectate matches. The game would freeze on the loading screen, and would have to be force quit from the Task Manager. One had to repeat the process till one actually connects to the game and is able to view it.
Moreover, in the match with BIG, Michael “shroud” Grzesiek had a scoreline of 4-22, mainly due to his PC not having the NVIDIA GeForce drivers installed. This was said in a tweet by Jake “Stewie2k” Yip, another player for Cloud9.
The problems with the major don’t end there. Technical difficulties led to the last few rounds of the BIG vs Cloud9 match being played offline, without it being streamed on the Twitch channel or on GOTV.
JUMP-BUG?
The "crouch jump" bug was brought into the limelight in the Major qualification cycle, when Nikola "LEGIJA" Ninić used the mechanic to gain information playing the white box on Cache as a CT. Following BIG's success, the "white box trick" quickly spread throughout the scene.
BIG used the mechanic in a similar way on Inferno, when they took on FaZe. The German side ended up getting a win over Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and co., which started the discussion of the legality of using the "crouch jump" bug.
SOUVENIR SKINS AND STICKERS !!
Also one thing that bothered me was the stickers and the skins that came out mainly stickers as first of all why are there like 100+ player stickers in a single crate like seriously you will have like 1/100 chance of getting something relevant it just didn't make any sense but yes i invested in them in crates not in stickers and it did paid of but still it just doesn't make any sense. look at this stupidity.
And how can we forget fuckin gold stickers. First of all since beginning of player stickers gold ones are only available on skin never were able to buy and just put on the skins and it made it better and worth something and it made some skins and sticker combination but i don't know somebody in valve had a bright idea to add gold stickers in pgl crates also i still think pgl team stickers are just worse but it just my opinion. But still so many KennyS gold foiled AWP D-Lore in market. It just screwed up the market.
FINAL MESSAGE
I know it was their first time but seriously for a major to go this wrong something really have to bad and also i just hope they or any future company handling major do their digging before trying to achieve anything but really this isn't even first bad major in cs go i expect lot more to come.
